Our Philosophy

مدرسة توفيقLearning Rooted in Faith & Excellence

Raising confident Muslim children who love to learn.

Tawfeeq Academy has been serving Rochester families since 2012. Our teachers combine strong academics with authentic Islamic teaching, helping each student grow into a confident, compassionate, and capable young Muslim.

We teach in the masjid musalah and our renovated basement hall — the same sacred spaces where our community prays, gathers, and grows together. Classes run from 11:00 AM until Maghrib, and the day closes with congregational prayer. Every child is known by name, and families become part of a supportive community that spans generations.

Level Groups

Groups for Every Age & Level

We welcome students ages 5 through 17. Placement is based on each child's age and their current knowledge of the deen — so every student learns at the right pace.

Beginners

Typically ages 5–8

A warm, play‑based introduction to Islam. Children learn the Arabic alphabet, short duas, and simple stories of the Prophets — building love for the deen before anything else.

  • Qur'anic alphabet & Tajweed basics
  • Short surahs & daily duas
  • Prophetic stories & manners
  • Arabic songs & hands‑on activities

Builders

Typically ages 9–12

Building strong foundations in Qur'an, Arabic, and Islamic studies while nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a deeper love for learning.

  • Qur'an memorization (Juz 'Amma & beyond)
  • Arabic reading & writing fluency
  • Aqeedah, Fiqh & Seerah
  • Weekly character‑building lessons

Youth Circle

Typically ages 13–17

Preparing youth for the teenage years and beyond with deeper Islamic knowledge, leadership skills, and a confident Muslim identity.

  • Advanced Qur'an & Tajweed
  • Islamic history & Seerah studies
  • Leadership & community service
  • Discussion‑based learning circles

Placement is determined at enrollment — age is a guide, but every child is placed where they will thrive.

A Day at Tawfeeq

Our Daily Rhythm

Structured, purposeful, and joyful.

Every session at Tawfeeq Academy runs from 11:00 AM until Maghrib — a full afternoon of learning that ends with congregational prayer in the masjid. Students arrive ready to learn, and leave with hearts full of faith and minds full of wonder.

Because Maghrib shifts with the seasons, the afternoon schedule adapts accordingly. Dhuhr and Maghrib are always prayed together in congregation — the day is anchored in prayer, not the clock.

Questions

Frequently Asked

What ages do you accept?

We accept students from age 5 through age 17. Rather than grouping students by strict grade levels, we place each child in a small group based on their age and their current knowledge of the deen — so a child who is new to Arabic isn't placed with students who have been studying for years, and vice versa.

What are your hours, and where do classes take place?

Classes run from 11:00 AM until Maghrib. Because Maghrib shifts with the seasons, the exact dismissal time changes throughout the year — but the day always ends with congregational Maghrib prayer in the masjid.

We teach in the masjid itself. Our primary teaching space is the musalah (main prayer hall), and for larger group activities, meals, and hands‑on learning we use our renovated basement hall.

How much is tuition, and are there discounts?

Tuition is a flat $80 per month, per child, covering all subjects — Qur'an, Arabic, Islamic Studies, and enrichment activities. Families with more than one child receive a 10–15% sibling discount on each additional child, applied automatically at enrollment.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Yes. We offer need‑based financial assistance covering partial or full tuition for families who qualify. Simply check the financial assistance box on the enrollment form, or email info@masjidtawfeeq.org — applications are handled confidentially by academy leadership. No child is ever turned away for financial reasons.

How do you place children in the right group?

When you enroll, we take a few minutes to meet your child and understand their current level in Qur'an, Arabic, and Islamic studies. We then place them in the group where they will be most comfortable and challenged — never too easy, and never overwhelming. Placement is reviewed regularly, and children move up as they progress.

Do you provide meals or snacks?

Students should bring a packed halal lunch and a snack each day. Water is provided on site. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please note them in the notes field on the enrollment form so our staff can take appropriate precautions.
